Closing your bracelet
Your beads are on, now all that is left is to close it. Two ways to do it depending on your thread: the surgeon's knot for elastic, the clasp for cotton.
The surgeon's knot
Recommended for elastic thread
- 01Leave 5 to 6 cm of free thread on each side of your beads.
- 02 Cross the two ends and wrap one around the other twice, like a simple knot with one extra loop. Pull lightly.
- 03 Tie a second, identical knot on top of the first.
- 04 Pull hard on all four strands to lock the knot, then trim what sticks out.
The clasp and crimp bead
Recommended for cotton thread
- 01On one side, thread on a crimp bead, pass the thread through the clasp ring, then back through the crimp bead.
- 02 Pull tight, then flatten the crimp bead with the crimping pliers.
- 03 On the other side, do the same with a crimp bead and the ring.
- 04 Check that everything holds by gently pulling on the clasp.
